Bollywood film industry somehow has some inferior impression of Southern film industry and their film personalities. Though on many occasions they were proven wrong and were amazed at the superlative skills of talented film makers and actors that impression is still there. Even when in present where most of their top heroes are scoring stunning success of the range of Rs 100crs grosser it is a pity that the industry nurtures that feeling though Big B Amitabh Bachchan on many occasions lavished praises on the talents of the south.
Recently gorgeous goan beauty Ileana D Cruz amazed all with her performance in ‘Barfi’ on debut. She sometimes even surpassed her experienced counterparts Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. No one from south in recent times created such an impact on film makers in Bollywood and now that the film is the representing India at Oscars, Ileana became an overnight star. Opportunities started pouring in on her lap and this is making Bollywood babes insecure about her.
Though she has long way to go to reach the stardom of Katrina or other stars or match the performances of Vidya Balan in Dirty Picture or Kahani or Kareena Kapoor in Heroine, Ileana has already sounded warning bells. Now Katrina and other heroines who are only sizzling in item numbers gaining immense popularity and attention may change track and look for more performance oriented films to clip Ileana’s wings.
