Former minister and senior TDP leader, B. V. Mohan Reddy, who has been ailing for some time, passed away this morning.Mohan Reddy, who contested in the recent Assembly by-election from Yemmiganur, fell ill in the midst of election campaigning and was admitted to the hospital. His condition reportedly worsened in the early hours and the doctors could not save his life even after he was put on ventilator.
Mohan Reddy held several portfolios in the late NTR and Chandrababu Naidu governments. Several party leaders expressed shock over his death and conveyed their heart-felt sympathies to the bereaved family members.
Immediately after he breathed his last, his body was shifted to his residence in the MLA Quarters for facilitating the party workers and leaders to have a last glimpse of the departed leader. Bereaved family members said that his body will be cremated in his native Yemmiganur town in Kurnool district on Saturday afternoon.
