Artists Performances
Nagarjuna who surprised with his looks in his last movie Kedi looked ravishing with his Ragada getup. He is in his elements in this film. Romance, Comedy, Fights, songs, you got them all done by Nag with enterprising energy. Touted as the full-length mass character for Nagarjuna after ‘Mass’, ‘Don’ & ‘King’. ‘Ragada’ character has all the shades of a mass hero. But the comedy touch that is given to his role gives fans a cause to celebrate. Rayalaseema dialect which was used for Nag doesn’t go well with his kind of class gaze.
Anushka : Simmering siren Anushka enthralled the audience with her spirited oomph. Veeru Potla made sure that her ‘glamour’ is used to the maximum extent. She performed her bit with perfection.
Priayamani : Too much of exposure to priyamani can be dangerous as we see her in most of the films as the heroine. So, She looks different as traditional brahmin girl ‘Asta laxmi’ in the first half. She doesn’t have much footage in the second half, yet an important role which we find her in regular glamour outfit.
Other Actors: Charmi did an item number. Though sounded redundant in few scenes, Brahmanandam supplied some oxygen to the film in terms of comedy entertainment through out. The episodes featuring him, Nag & Anushka together are extremely hilarious. We found Kota, Pradeep Rawat, Supreet, Sushanth Singh and Dev Gill in similar kind of characters, nothing much better than their earlier. Tanikella Bharani, Dharmavarapu Subramanyan, Bharat & Sana did an insignificant role.

Story-Screenplay-Direction:
Story of the film is predictable. Veeru Potla – he has got good timing in comedy and entertainment, But what he lacks is the holistic perspective, The direction and narration for individual scenes is good. The way he molded the characters is good. The screenplay and twists in the last half an hour are good. However, his screenplay is not slick in the first half. He seems to have got carried away by projecting the charisma of Nagarjuna and there by concentrating less on sensible narration of story.
Camera: Sarvesh Murari did a wonderful job in projecting the glamour of the film. Nag & Anushka looks striking in this film.
Music: Thaman has composed foot tapping mass numbers for this film justifying the title Ragada. Background score of this film is gripping. As far as shooting the songs are concerned, very impressive and rich. The song that got tremendous response with morning show crowds was ‘Okkadante Okkade’.
Analysis:
First half of the movie is entertaining without any story. Second half except for a few twists goes on predictable mode. Climax is clinched like his earlier movies. Plus points of the movie are Nagarjuna, Anushka & priyamani entertaining performance and entertainment. On the flipside, the story of Ragada offers nothing new, but Veeru Potla succeeds in making this movie appear entertaining despite of clichéd story. We got to wait and see how the masses receive this film!
