Vankaveeti Radha & PJR daughter Arrested

The bandh call given by the YSR Congress to protest against government’s failure on the power front was received with lukewarm response. While small schools had closed down, major corporate schools and colleges functioned as usual. Efforts of the party activists to stall bus services failed and most of the buses functioned as usual.

Late Congress leader P Janardana Reddy’s daughter Vijaya Reddy led a group of supporters and went round the streets trying to enforce a shut down. She raised slogans hailing the YSRCP honorary president Vijayamma and party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. She was arrested and shifted to the Jubilee Hills police station. In Hyderabad, party’s official spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao and several other leaders were arrested when they tried to obstruct bus services at the MGBS. Speaking to the media on the occasion, Gattu said Congress also would go down the same way as TDP.

In Visakhapatnam also, several YSRCP activists were arrested. Protesting against the arrests, party workers staged a protest at the fifth town police station. In Medchal, party leader Singi Reddy Hari Vardhan Reddy and in L B Nagar another leader Putta Reddy were arrested. Party MLAs have tried to enforce closure of shops and establishments in their respective areas. In Anantapur, party MLA Gurunatha Reddy and MLC Thippa Reddy were arrested.

In SrikKulam, YSRCP MLA Dharmana Krishna Das has entered into argument with the police, charging them of illegally arresting his party activists. He has also complained to the police about the arrests. In Nizamabad, party’s spokesperson Bajireddy Govardhan and others staged a dharna at the bus depot. They were arrested. Bajireddy continued his protest in the police station.

In East Godavari district, YSRCP leader Jyothula Nehru was arrested. In Krishna district, former Congress MLA Vangaveeti Radha Krishna was kept under house arrest. In Nellore district, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy was also kept under house arrest.

Party’s official spokesperson Vasireddy Padma has charged the government of getting her party activists illegally arrested, though they were organizing peaceful rallies. She has demanded immediate release of all those arrested. She has also charged that there was collusion between the Congress and the TDP.In Prakasham YSRCP leaders said police were over-acting. However, Sakshi media has claimed that the bandh was a big success.

Clarity on Telangana Soon - Chandrababu

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has assured his colleagues that he would give clarity on the Telangana issue by the second week of September.

Addressing a meeting of the Telugu Desam Legislature Party, he said both the YSR Congress and the TRS had no organizational grip over the Telangana region. Stating that the TDP had good command over the region, Naidu has expressed the view that if his party used the base it has and strove harder, the party could pick up well in the 'T' region. Stating that he would not bother about the remarks of leaders of other parties on the Telangana issue, Naidu said he would give clarity on the matter. He said he would begin the process from Saturday by holding meetings with leaders of all the regions. Naidu has advised the coordination committee appointed for the purpose to act independently and not depend upon him for guidance.

It may be mentioned here that Naidu had dispensed with his vacillation on key issues and started taking clear stands. This was evident from the support he had expressed for the categorization of the SCs recently. Now Telangana remains to be the only key issue on which he has to take a clear stand. Meanwhile, TDP general secretary and senior leader Byreddy Rajasekhara Reddy has stirred up the Rayalaseema issue and demanded that if the state were to be divided, a Rayalaseema state also should be formed along with Telangana. Opponents of Naidu had charged him of being behind Byreddy to delay decision on the Telangana state.

Ok ok Movie Review - 2.75/5

Rating: 2.75/5.0
Banner: Sri Sai Ganesh Productions
Cast: Udayanidhi Stalin,Hansika, Santanam, Saranya, Sayaji Shinde
Editing: Vivek Harshan
Cinematography: Balasubramaniam
Music: Harris Jayraj
Produced by: Bellamkonda Suresh, Bellamkonda Ganesh babu
Written and Directed by: Rajesh. M
CBFC Rating: ‘U’
Release Date: 31-08-2012

Story: Srinivas(Udayanidhi Stalin) is a happy-go-lucky youth and Bangarraju(santanam) are friends who work for a multiplex in Vizag. Srinivas happens to see Meera(Hansika) at a traffic signal and falls for her charm instantly. He follows her and expresses his love but she is not interested, how he encounters it with his friend and what does he plans to make her fall in love is the remaining story.

Performances: Udayanidhi is okay, he has to concentrate more on his body language and dances if he wants to act in more films. Santanam is at his all time best with good lines. Hansika is beautiful and performed well. Saranaya impresses in her scenes. The remaining cast suited well. Cinematography is good. The art work and editing are okay. Muisc by Harris Jayraj is Average with a couple of catchy numbers. The story is simple, the screenplay is interesting and the direction is good in few scenes.

Analysis: Udayanidhi is okay and represents the present day youth who runs after girls. Udayanidhi (The producer turned actor) who made a cameo in Ghatikudu(Surya, Nayanatara), appears in the end of the film along with K.S.Ravikumar tried his hand as hero also. Hansika is beautiful with chubby looks; she has put on a lot of weight and looked odd in some costumes. Santanam has done a very good job. He has given his all time best with perfect comedy timing. Santanam is the saving grace with witty punch lines. Sunil has dubbed his voice in Telugu version. Initially it appeared that it’s a mismatch but later the timing is so good that you start enjoying. Sunil has done decent job.

Art work and Editing are okay. The cinematography by Balasubramanyam is good. All the frames looked rich. Music by Harrish Jayraj is okay, “Vaddu raa” and “Akila Akila” are foot tapping numbers. The Background score is good. The story of the film is wafer thin. The way it’s narrated is good. There are some repetitive scenes but can be ignored.

The Director Rajesh has come up with yet another film which revolves around love and friendship. All the movies(Siva Manasula Shakti- remade in Telugu as SMS, Boss Engira Bhaskaran- dubbed in Telugu as “Nene Ambani Aru Nelallo”) of Rajesh have common elements, Hero-Heroine have clash in their love thread, hero has a friend who delivers punch dialogues and becomes a fool in the end. Rajesh and Santanam combination rocks once again. Hero-Heroine ego problems have become repetitive in Rajesh films.

Tamil Hero ‘Arya’ and ‘Andrea’ made brief appearances in the climax. The flight scene where Sneha was seen in a cameo was edited in the Telugu version. There are limited characters in the film which may bore you at times. Saranya impresses once again in her scenes. All the scenes of Santanam and Udayanidhi are entertaining. The story narration scene on the stage towards the climax is good. There are many scenes which are predictable and nonsensical but make you sit all through. There is no big story in Ok Ok but the way its packaged entertains you.

The movie is targeted at youth Audience and it may go well if received by them.

Plus: Entertainment, Santanam
Minus: wafer thin story line, limited characters
Verdict: An OK love story---Decent and Clean youthful Entertainer

Gifts for UP-Insults for AP

It is a well known fact that politicians are more interested in money making than doing any good for the people or society. As such they call for tenders or announce new projects so that they can stash public funds to their benami accounts. They give tenders and contracts to their near and dear and never complete the projects. They play a pivotal role in increasing the cost of the project that never become operational even after decades. The on going political games on Polavaram-Pranahita projects highlight the dirty political games.

Telangana politicians oppose Polavaram project not because of any love for telangana but for political ends. In fact they have their share in tenders and contracts in the project. Similar is the case with Pranahita. Politicians don’t want the projects to get completed as it will put an end to their source of income generation. Whenever CM Kiran and leaders from state go to Delhi, they make noises regarding Polavaram and say Union Govt gave all approvals for the project. However the facts point to some other direction. The Govt never gave any approval but only asked state to sort out issues with other states.

The same Govt cleared all power and other projects in UP on fast track basis. This is shame on 33 MPs of the state who are only working for their vested interests ignoring the need and necessity of these projects to AP. Congress doles gifts to UP the state which continuously handed its PM in waiting Rahul Gandhi, unforgettable defeats and insults to AP with gave 33 MP seats and helped in Govt formation. This time however many feel that AP is all set to teach a fitting lesson to all these impotent MPs and show Cong its place.

Lover Boy Simha becomes Laughing Stock

Balakrishna entertained viewers and movie lovers acting in different kinds of roles. Even during the storm of Megastar Chiranjeevi or younger generation heroes, he created a niche for himself endearing himself to audience. Many feel he is best suited for mythological roles or powerful roles fighting for the cause of the poor and downtrodden.

Film critics and movie lovers are of the opinion that Natasimha still donning the ‘Lover Boy’ roles is becoming a laughing stock and unnecessarily giving food and fodder for his rivals to make fun of him. Many are of the opinion that by doing rules that are not suited for him, romancing beauties more than half his age and dancing sporting trendy T-shirts and fashionable attire makes him look out of order.

People cite true that he has donned those kind of roles in Adiya 369 which happen to be his hit film. But still he can’t always expect people to accept him in the same roles. They say he should introspect himself and don the roles as powerful as in ‘Ukodatara Ulikipadatara’ or delight viewers with mythological films like ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ which is his forte. He should let know film makers that roles with powerful dialogues and story changers are the order of the day than romantic lover boy roles which are making him a laughing stock.

‘Sai Baba’ scares King

King Nagarjuna ever readily agreed to turn Sai Baba of Shirdi, in ‘Shirdi Sai’ under K.Raghavendra Rao’s direction. Nag known for his creative and innovative roles thought of experimenting once again reviving the magic of ‘Annamayya’ and ‘Sri Rama Dasu’. On many occasions he recollected how he had visions of Sai Baba influencing him nudging him to do the role providing strength and courage required to don the role.

Media asked him whether he watched earlier films that came on Shirdi Sai in Tollywood and in particular ‘Shirdi Sai Baba Mahatyam’ starring Vijaychander. In the film Vijaychander gave superlative performance and still the songs in the film live in the memories of all devotees and music lovers. However Nag replied in negative confessing the very thought of watching ‘Sai’ scares him.

He says he was not arrogant as a actor when he did not watch those hit films, but said he feared that the performance of those actors as Shirdi Sai may influence him and his performance. He says sometimes he wonder why Saibaba will be shown as shivering in some scenes as one can not predict his age and as a lord he should have all strength in the world. Many wonder whether Nag really did not watch ‘Sai Baba’ earlier films or has ‘Shirdi Sai’ scared him to submission.

Women delivers a baby while watching Sudigadu

Here is a hilarious update of a thing which took place in a movie theater screening Allari Naresh's Sudigadu. Going in to the detail. Parimala from the Palamaner town has made news when she delivered a baby boy while watching Allari Naresh's Sudigadu.

The woman was expecting a baby anytime but was not prepared to undergo labour pain so soon. She was enjoying the film Sudigadu but all of a sudden started undergoing labour pain.

The theater management stopped the screening and immediately made arrangements to meet the emergency. Eventually, it was a smooth natural delivery for the woman, who was later shifted to a hospital for medical care. What more, she named his son as "Sudi-Naresh".

Superb Response to Badshah First Look

The new look of Young Tiger NTR in his upcoming movie ‘Baadshah’ was greeted to a overwhelming response by fans and movie enthusiasts. The First look of the movie was released to media today and was an instant hit.The movie which is all set to hit the screens for Sankranthi 2013 is a hot cake in trade circles and is receiving mindboggling business offers.

Kajal Agarwal is pairing up with NTR in this movie. This is the second time Kajal Agarwal pairing up with NTR once again after Brindavanam. The movie will be produced by Bandla Ganesh Babu under Parameswara Arts banner. Thaman who worked for Srinu Vaitla’s earlier movie Dookudu will also work for this movie.

Whats wrong with Srinu Vaitla?

Some how or other, director Sreenu Vaitla is finding it tough to handle the cinematographers of his movie as he changed them twice within a span of 2 months for his latest movie, Badshah.

When the film's shooting began in Italy in July, Andrew (of Kandireega and Ullasanga Utsahanga fame) was the cinematographer. However, Sreenu was not comfortable with him and dropped him after the Europe schedule and roped in cameraman Jayanan Vincent (of Gabbar Singh fame).

Jayanan had worked for the film's Bangkok schedule and worked for few days and Vaitla dropped him too from the project and had roped in another cinematographer R D Rajasekhar into this project.

Sreenu has had problems with cinematographers in the past too. He had a big fight with his cameraman Prasad Murella during Dookudu after the completion of 70 percent of the shoot. He then replaced him with another cameraman K V Guhan. Until differences cropped up between them, Prasad Murella was Srinu Vaitla's trusted cinematographer.

: Balakrishna is good both in dances and performances. He delivered neat performance. Parvati Melton looked odd in the zero sized skinny shape. Isha Chawla is okay with mass appeal. Kota Srinivas rao, Jaya Prakash reddy, Supreet and Suresh suited to the villain roles. The Comedy track is weak. Art work and editing is neat. Cinematography is good. The story is single threaded and the screenplay is okay. The Direction is good in parts. The Production values are good.

Analysis: Balakrishna has come up with a mass flick in the Combination of Ravi C. Kumar who earlier delivered a hit with political drama “Samanyudu”. This time he combined his films (Victory and Samanyudu) and churned out a new one (Real estate + Scams). Balakrishna is okay as journalist but the track with Parvati Milton appeared to be forced (for the sake of masses). Isha Chawla is okay in the traditional attire and the combination scenes with Balayya, Parvati and Duvvasi Mohan were enjoyed well by the masses. Parvati Melton looked odd in many frames in that skinny look. Audience couldn’t bear her in the initial scenes/Songs with her eyes popping out.

The remaining supporting cast is okay and they have done their job well. The story line is thin; it’s a simple revenge formula with a social responsibility added to it. The Director could have inserted a couple of threads and made it big on the canvas. The movie appeared one directional after the intermission. There is no strong opposition. The action episodes are okay. The fight Sequence shot in Malaysia with Supreet is okay,
Art work and editing are okay. Cinematography is good.

Music by Chakri is below Average with weak background score. The Songs are well picturised on the screen. A Couple of songs are shot in Malaysia. The Choreographers should be appreciated for coming up with different themes and concepts. The comedy track with M.S. and Krishna Bhagwan is a not so appealing. A Good entertaining Comedy track could have helped more. Dialogues by Ghatikachalam are good.

The fate of the film solely depends on how it gets received at the B, C Centers.

Plus:Balayya, Mass Elements
Minus: comedy, unidirectional orientation in second half

Verdict:
Routine Revenge Mass Flick, can Skip it if you are not so interested
